A 10mm lens, a bit of light, and a perfect puddle
We recently did light-painting using a small puddle. In this new blog post, I break down how we used our light-painting tubes and a 10mm lens to transform a simple, everyday scene into something that feels surreal. You’ll also find on this page the camera settings, equipment used, and what it looks like when using a longer focal length (yes, this also works)

The YouTube video goes behind the scenes of that moment - showing how we scouted the puddle, set up the lights, and demonstrate how we created the shot. I talk through the decisions, the feeling behind the photo, and why it feels special:
Just as with most of our recent videos, Kim edited this one (let me know if you feel her dance background in the flow 😉)
I’ll finish with a picture of our cat taking a final look at the picture before I press the “publish” button 😆
Thanks all 💖
